Terry brings the rare skill to view custom building through both broad and narrow lenses. Since 1985, he has advanced through the profession as laborer, purchasing specialist, superintendent, Vice President of Construction, and roofing & remodeling company President. These experiences led and prepared him to co-lead Faganel Builders.
Terry’s goal in serving Valparaiso and northwest Indiana is the same that has followed him throughout his accomplished career: to leave every lot, home and development even better than he found it. Like partner Dave Faganel, he strives to create communities he would want to reside in (and he does live in one that he built).
Friends and business associates since the late 80s, Terry and Dave combined their industry strengths in 2017 to complete 12 open custom home projects in just 18 months. Soon after, they learned of the increasing interest in residential real estate in northwest Indiana. With more people moving in, the region was ready for a larger builder with the resources to redefine what was possible for neighborhood living with urban access.
Terry and Dave could buy, plan and develop land for custom homes and developments. With Dave managing sales, marketing, site selection, product design and contracts, Terry would oversee costing, purchasing, subcontracting and construction. They also recognized the great community pride in Valparaiso and northwest Indiana, so they would aim to build and maintain core teams of local vendors and subcontractors.
Equally important to Terry and Faganel Builders is creating homes for aging in place. In addition to premier comfort, function and style, their luxury homes offer a cross-generational design and appeal. Current Boomers and retirees can find their ideal homes for living out their golden years; at the same time, Gens X, Y and Z can enjoy community life with the space to accommodate children and elderly parents.
